Day 7 Challenge: Beating Procrastination and Overwhelm
The one imperfect action I am going to start doing on a daily basis is to write a minimum of 1,000 words per day. Writing in prose comes naturally to me and I believe I have put off writing a novel for a very long time due to procrastination and overwhelm. I chose 1,000 as the minimum because if I commit to do this every day for the next 30 days, then I am halfway to completing a novel. I envision that I will have some days within the next 30 days where there would be bad writing block days. Even so, I am holding myself accountable in producing 1,000 words per day regardless of how I am feeling, what situation I am faced with, if I am sick or simply lazy. If I preach that life is too short to wait around for the perfect opportunity to write, then I am not practicing what I preach. I must be that living example of life is too short and act on pursuing my dreams. This 10 Day Blog Challenge has been really helpful in jumpstarting the process for me to write. I thank God for answering my prayer in leading me to stumble across Natalie Sisson’s 10 Day Blog Challenge by accident.
